I was just wondering how many credit cards people have? I have one, but I read somewhere it’s good to have more than one. Is there any advantage of having more than one credit card?

    It is very good to have more than 1 credit card,

    low interest balance transfers
    gives options of bank gets flaky or in trouble (think WaMu)
    special finance offers such as Home Depot/Lowes over $299 6 months no interest, Sears appliances 12 months no interest

    as long as YOU are in control of your credit, there is no reason not to have multiple cards
